Vancouver Photographer Lindsey Donovan Photography Studio Space

It was about four years ago I stumbled upon a listing on Craigslist for what seemed to be a “to good to be true” photography studio space. Like many photographers, I had dreamed of one day having a fabulous studio to call my own. Clean, modern, and fresh would be a great way to describe it. It’s one big beautiful open space! I pulled up to the building that day and instantly fell in love with its big bay windows and French door that opens onto the sidewalk. It felt welcoming and it felt right!

I cannot believe how quickly time has passed and the amount of love that has walked through those doors since that day. I feel honored and truly blessed to be entrusted with my clients important milestones, be it a new job opportunity, new relationship, new baby, or a new idea.

The natural light in this studio is stunning, soft, and defused. The light lends itself beautifully to my contemporary style of portraiture. The openness adds an airy feel, with its lounge and meeting area as well as its fully equipped kitchen. This space is as diverse as my clients and their needs! Of course I love shooting on location as well. Though let’s be honest here, sometimes our west coast weather doesn’t always cooperate!

My studio is located just off of “The Drive”, Vancouver’s artsy beatnik community. You’ll find lots of colorful characters that live in this area. It’s a grounded community where everyone is accepted. I completely understand how nerve wracking being in front of the camera can be but I want you to know that when you walk through that door and sit in front of my lens you are in a safe environment with no judgment. It is my ability to put my subject at ease, which helps draw out the personalities of the people I photograph. It’s not a stressful experience, in fact it can be quite liberating if you allow yourself to go with it in that moment.

My favorite part of what I do is meeting new people and discovering their story. If I can help bring that story to life, that’s the real privilege. Feel free to check out my work and contact me with any questions you may have. I’d love to hear from you!
